Chef
Kalp Mithal is the Executive Chef at The Park,
New Delhi.
He joined IHM Mumbai in 1984 and his career in
the service
industry took him all over India. In 1987 Chef
Mithal joined the
Oberoi School of Management. After successfully
completing a
three year advanced diploma in food production,
he was
posted to Oberoi Flight Services, Mumbai in
1990.After being
posted to New Delhi, Khajuraho, Bhubaneshawar
and Calcutta
branches of The Oberoi Hotel, he joined The
Park, Calcutta in
July 1998, but moved to Delhi in December 1998.
Chef Mithal's average day finishes by 8 pm. when
he has
himself checked the complete preparation for
dinner service
and banquets. A man famous for being a stickler
for quality he
does not respect anything that is improperly
done. Chef Mithal
likes to spend his time with other colleagues
from other
departments to get relevant information on
arrivals, departures
and other guest feedback. He spends his
afternoons in training
or addressing staffs and executive forums where
daily issues are tabled and solutions sought. Chef
Mithal would one day like
to open his own restaurant with his signature
style of cooking.
